If you had missed it I think this is interesting: Jimquisition brings up the creepyness of the attitude towards female protagonists by the gaming industry higher-ups.

This was very interesting.  Especially the part about publishers specifically saying they didn’t want to put the heroine on the cover of the game, and that a developer was told that their heroine couldn’t have a straight relationship because it would turn off the straight male audience.

Yes. Dear game publishers, I prefer to play as a well-rounded female protagonist and could care less if they have a relationship with a male character. Sincerely, a heterosexual male.

i read this interesting fact the other day that pirates wore eye patches because they frequently transitioned from bright sunlight to darkness below deck and when they went below deck the covered eye would already be adjusted to darkness so they could immediately see really well and not have to wait for their eyes to adjust

I did know this. However, this is not only useful for pirates. A fellow actor friend of mine once did a show where he needed to move quickly off of a crowded stage at the end of a scene after all the lights went down. He found this transition particularly hazardous, but the scene was staged such that the left side of his body was turned to face the audience prior to that point. So when performing the scene, he would keep his right eye closed, and, because it was upstage, the audience couldn’t see it. When the lighting cue was called and the blackout happened, he would open his right eye, and it would be adjusted enough for him to safely make the transition.
